da Vinci® Robotic Surgery

Mercy Health Partners has the privilege to be one of the first hospitals in Michigan to use the da Vinci® robot-assisted surgical technology.
We have been successfully using this technology since 2006 at our Hackley Campus. This minimally-invasive surgical breakthrough is setting new options for hysterectomy and myomectomy procedures, as well as for the treatment of prostate cancer.

The da Vinci® Surgical System is powered by state-of-the-art robotic technology. It allows your surgeon's hand movements to be scaled, filtered, and translated into precise movements of micro-instruments within the operative site. The magnified, three-dimensional view the surgeon experiences enables him to perform precise surgery in complex procedures through very small surgical incisions. While the da Vinci® system is "robotic," it cannot be programmed, nor can it make decisions on its own. The System requires every surgical maneuver be performed with direct input from your surgeon.
