Externship Program

Externships at Mercy Health Partners are designed to assist in building the base of clinical experience for third and fourth year medical students. Externs receive “hands on” experience, work under close supervision of attending physicians and are encouraged to participate in didactic sessions and other opportunities of the medical education program. MHP also offers flexibility in the length of the externship rotation to accommodate the students’ needs.

• Urological Surgery
• Radiology
• Pathology
• Pediatrics
• Anesthesiology
• OB/GYN
• Emergency Medicine
• Otolaryngology
• Hematology
• Oncology
• Cardiology
• Gastroenterology

Meals are provided while students are on duty. Housing is available to visiting externs at no cost on a space available basis. Rotations are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis.
