"Mercy Health Partners has been a wonderful partner of The Lakes Mall since it opened in August 2001 as sponsor of the mall's Healthy Heron Mall Walker Program. We applaud their continued efforts to reach out to the community with their healthy lifestyle message and the sponsorship of the mall's play area with its focus on children's health in particular,” states Michael Hagen, General Manager for The Lakes Mall.

The playland is a great place for children to exercise, develop motor skills and good coordination. Healthy habits begin in childhood and Mercy General’s goal is to encourage indoor and outdoor play, good nutrition, regular safety habits and health check-ups for children. Mercy General would like parents to have access to health care for their children as well as health and safety information so that they can provide the very best care for their kids.

“Mercy Health Partners is committed to providing the highest quality care for our community, from newborn to the elderly. Through Mercy General’s Community Benefits program, we give time, health care services, and resources back to our community. The Mercy General Playland is another opportunity for us to invest in our community and let parents know of local health and safety resources for their children,” says Roger Spoelman, President and CEO of Mercy Health Partners.”

Local health information for children will now be available at The Lakes Mall information desk. Parents can pick up the free information that will include emergency care, Safe Kids, physician information, Healthy Kids/MIChild and more. Additionally, Mercy General has focused on children’s health and safety on their web site. Visit www.MHP.com and look for the Center for Children’s Health and Safety page.
