Chief Financial Officer joins MHP Senior Leadership Team

April 29, 2005 – Gary Allore to join Mercy Health Partners (MHP) as Chief Financial Officer.

Allore comes to MHP from Gerber Memorial Health Services where he has served as CFO for the last nine years. He was formerly the Controller at Muskegon General Hospital prior to their Joint Operating Agreement with Mercy Hospital in 1996 for seven years when he assumed the role of Director of Finance. With over 17 years of healthcare finance experience as well as a solid understanding of the Muskegon community, Allore is viewed as a natural fit for the position.

Some of Allore’s responsibilities in this new position will be budget performance, accurate and timely financial reporting and oversight of all financial aspects of the hospital. Allore brings strong leadership skills to the new role. He has been part of a formal leadership development program at Gerber and will be actively involved in the Mercy General Health Partner’s Leadership Development Institute. Allore states, “Successful leadership is creating a vision for the future together and then allowing talented staff thrive doing what they love to do.”

Additionally, Allore sees the importance of having the right people in the right position. Past experience has shown that this philosophy allowed him to achieve and surpass organizational goals. Allore promotes strong efforts at teamwork and relationship building, especially between clinical and non-clinical departments.

“I am so excited to rejoin Mercy Health Partners as their new CFO. I’m looking forward to joining a “mission-minded” healthcare system that truly wants to create a healthier community in Muskegon,” say Allore. “I know that I can make a significant contribution to MHP through the culture that values relationships and thrives through teamwork.”

MHP is looking forward to having Allore join the Senior Leadership Team. The role of CFO was vacant due to a reorganization in which previous CFO, Mary Boyd, accepted a newly created position within MHP of Vice-President Business Development and Operational Excellence. Allore will report directly to Roger Spoelman, President/CEO. The remaining members of the Senior Leadership Team are Gay Landstrom, RN, Chief Nursing Officer, Greg Loomis, Chief Operating Officer and Dr. Remington Sprague, Chief Medical Officer.
