Life Counseling Receives Grant
from Sappi Fine Paper North America
Muskegon, MI-November 26, 2008 – Mercy Health
Partners-Life Counseling was recently awarded $1,500 from
Sappi Fine Paper North America for the purpose of enhancing
the use of technology in the You-Turn Program. The grant will
allow the agency to upgrade technology in the classroom with
the addition of a video projector, speakers, and a screen.
The additional equipment will allow for greater instructional
flexibility.
Life Counseling’s You-Turn Program provides educational
and behavioral health services for students who have been
expelled from Muskegon County schools. The Program was formed
in collaboration with the Muskegon Area Intermediate School
District, and provides both academic instruction and behavioral
health services to address student needs.
Mercy Health Partners-Life Counseling provides behavioral
health counseling and substance abuse treatment to over 3,700
individuals each year. Nationally accredited, Life Counseling
is also recognized as a leading provider of alcohol and drug-abuse
treatment and serves as Muskegon County’s only source
of intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment for adults.
