What Our Patients Say
I want to thank you all for the exceptional care I received during my recent hospitalization and total knee replacement and in-home treatment following my surgery. My wife and I felt the entire Mercy team was informative, professional and compassionate, and can’t say enough about the quality of care I have once again experienced at Mercy Hospital.
Each volunteer or employee treated us with respect, caring for all needs efficiently and with great attention to detail…including the office and admission staff members from Orthopaedic Associates and Mercy. The nursing staff, my coach for Joint Camp, the occupational and physical therapists, those who work for the vascular unit, the lab and x-ray technicians, the housekeeping team and the amazing team from Mercy Home Care were such positive, strong motivators to ready me for rehabilitation. You are truly second to none.
I feel fortunate to be in Dr. Richard Moulton’s care and look forward to positive results from my knee replacement as I continue to work during the next weeks in outpatient rehabilitation. I feel my pre-op preparation; the treatment for DVT and the care I received from the entire Mercy team has me well on the way to a great recovery. What a reflection of the expectations and mission of Mercy Health Partners each of you are! My deep appreciation!

September 2008
September 11, 2007 was our family’s first experience with Mercy. My 83-year-old mother, Marjorie, had out patient surgery performed by Dr. Bernath. I must preface the rest of these comments by saying that good customer service and positive interpersonal interaction in general, is something I place a high priority on and consider to be important in fostering nurturing families and a more civil society. I admit that I am “overly sensitive” when it comes to both receiving and delivering good customer service. In fact, my wife feels that I go a bit overboard to suit her!
From the minute I accompanied my mother to the out patient reception desk to the time I picked her up the next day, and during my visits to the 2W floor in between this time, we received the highest quality and extremely cordial treatment from every person who attended my mother. I also feel compelled to compliment the accommodating and very friendly staff at West Shore Cardiology where we went for post surgery appointments.
When it came to the treatment of my mother, every person involved with her care exhibited the utmost kindness, patience, and displayed a genuine interest in their jobs. I must say they are great ambassadors for Mercy. As far as Dr. Bernath, I cannot recall when I have witnessed such an outstanding “bedside manner”. Not only was he very personable, attentive, and informative when speaking with my mother, he also took the time to answer all of my questions.
While there are many hospitals and care facilities, including Mercy, that often “toot their own horn”, I have seen very few that actually measure up to their own marketing campaigns. Based upon our experience, I am completely honest when I say that you not only lived up to your own PR, you surpassed it.
Needless to say, as the only remaining child of my mother, our very positive experience with Mercy has brought me much peace of mind.

My 92 year old mother spent five weeks at your Mercy Campus, five more weeks at your General Campus and eight weeks at Sanctuary at McAuley. Mom was in ICU for about four of those eighteen weeks following open-heart surgery. Everyone from the doctors and nurses right down to the cleaning personnel treated us like family in showing their concern. They did their best in all areas to make mom’s stay as comfortable as is humanly possible. We never had a negative experience. Your people are a great example of what all of us should aspire to be in life towards our fellow man.
I had no sooner got mom home and I had to come into Mercy hospital to have an operation. While I was in and out in a matter of hours, I too received the same friendly and compassionate service.
Words cannot express my mother’s, as well as, my own gratitude for what all your employees and associates did to make our stay at your hospital as comfortable and successful as possible.
