BSN Completion Program
Mercy Health Partners, (MHP), offers a unique educational opportunity for RN's. In collaboration with the University of Detroit Mercy, MHP provides an ON-SITE BSN completion program. This partnership also provides an exceptional tuition reimbursement benefit for all RN's in a budgeted position at MHP. The classes are designed for the working adult learner and are conducted weekly onsite. MHP offers flexible scheduling to accommodate for participation. Here are the testimonies from a few of our previous graduates.
I was part of the first group to enter into the UDM Bachelors program sponsored by MHP. Not for one minute do I regret the nights I stayed up studying or hours on the Internet searching for evidence-based nursing articles, clinical studies, or updates in nursing practices. These were all part of what I practice everyday, but taking the research to a new level. Having an Associates Degree in Nursing and practicing for several years gave me a basis for nursing. Obtaining my Bachelors degree in Nursing enables me to practice my profession and encouraged me to participate on committees geared for nurses and looking into new adventures. At this point, I have remained in my position as a staff nurse on 2West because I love it, not because I have too. The time during the program goes by so fast that before you know it, you are doing your final research project and utilizing all the fundamentals taught. My 40-month program was filled with excitement, grieving a loss, and fear of the unknown,
however, I am so proud of myself for completing the program.
Julie Arraut, RN, BSN Intermediate Care/Telemetry
If I could summarize the BSN completion program for me, it was the "sense of accomplishment at an older age" that I achieved. I had not been back to "formal school" for 23 years, and the fear of the unknown (going to school) was daunting to say the least. It ended up being 3 years of a bond with my fellow students that I will never forget, and will always look back at as one of the best things that I ever did. We, as a group, learned so much from the classes, but above all, from each other. We laughed, we cried, and we supported each other spiritually, mentally, and educationally throughout the program. I do not believe I would have had that same sense of being if I had just gone back to school on my own. I do not know that I would have even attempted to go back to school if the program had not been there for me. The instructors were also the best.

You cannot beat getting your degree through your employer. The
cost of education is increasing at an alarming rate; instead of
going into debt for your house, it is for an education. This is
an opportunity that you cannot afford to not take advantage of.
Yes, it is a struggle and school takes up a lot of time and effort,
but what reward doesn't. The greater the hardship, the sweeter
the reward. I completed my BSN with two young children and as
a single parent. If I can, then so can you.
