Safe Kids Muskegon
Preventing Accidenta l Injury
Safe Kids Muskegon is dedicated solely to preventing unintentional
childhood injury. It focuses on one specific problem: more children
1 to 14 die from accidents such as motor vehicle crashes, fires,
drowning, poisoning and falls than any other cause.
Accidents kill one million children each year around the world
and permanently disable many more. And almost all of these injuries
are preventable.
In April 2000, Mercy Health Partners committed to acting
as the lead organization of Safe Kids Muskegon. Mercy Health Partners’ commitment to serve as the lead organization for
Safe Kids Muskegon chapter is directly related to the organization’s
mission to “create a healthier community.” Mercy Health Partners seeks to improve the community health status by
identifying risk populations and offering education and resources
aimed at reducing the number of unintentional injuries to children.
